I will keep constant watch over myself and — most usefully — will put each day up for review. For this is what makes us evil — that none of us looks back upon our lives. We reflect upon only that which we are about to do. And yet our plans for the future descend from the past. — Seneca

Life goes by so fast, with 24 hours in the day and thousands of things to accomplish in that allotted time you can easily become overwhelmed. Causing you to simply react to the next thing that comes your way, not focusing on how you do something but just getting it off you plate.

We become consumed with the thought of pushing forward, completing our check lists, clearing our inboxes or getting someone off our back so we can be free to think about the future.

However, do you sometimes feel as if this freedom we so desperately desire doesn’t come or that future where we are free of tasks and duties never arrives?

This feeling come from not reviewing your actions, making adjustments and moving forward accordingly.

Say you workout everyday, you are diligent with your approach and debilitate with their execution, however for the last 2 years you have not noticed one difference. This speaks to the notion that, even though you are intentionally doing something and getting it done does not mean it is effective nor the best way to go about it.

By putting your day, month, year and so on up for review you start to see where you effort is placed, where you would like to go, and if adjustments need to made to get there.

After noticing how ineffective your workouts really are you may decide it’s time to change up you exercises, clean up your diet and learn more about your body to receive your desired results.

By simply putting things in review you gain a new perspective on your current situation providing you with continued momentum while you chase after your goals.
